Life and Website Updates

Its been a while since I’ve written anything and updated this blog. Last year was interesting. A meeting with our financial advisor saw us excited at the prospect of early retirement and we are planning on going this coming Easter. I’ve done my 40 years plus and want to now spend more time (between injuries!) in the hills either climbing, biking, walking or swimming.

On the subject of injuries, my bad run continued as I developed Achilles tendonitis a week before a ten day climbing trip to Sicily. Needless to say, not much climbing was done (4 routes) and I returned worse off than when I went. Happily, its now well on the way to recovery.

I will however, continue to run and develop Climb Wild. It’s been great, creating a small business from nothing and watching it slowly grow to become profitable. We now stock gear from Camp and ropes from Tendon and hopefully that range will continue to grow in 2026. It’s still a learning curve though but hopefully a lot of the silly, naïve mistakes have been made and we can move forward with more knowledge.

Personal climbing plans for 2026? Just to do more as I will have more time. Tentative plans for the Gower and Peak District as well as regular trips to the Lakes (I’m only an hour away) and perhaps another trip to France to clip some bolts in the sun? And I must do Corvus again!

Happy Climbing!
